What are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

All-on-4 dental implants are an excellent option for achieving a healthier smile in the long run, as opposed to removable dentures. In addition, unlike conventional implant procedures requiring a longer setup time, the “All-on-4” treatment option allows for immediate denture replacement.

All-on-four dental implants refer to a complete arch of teeth supported by four dental implants. Ten to fourteen teeth in a permanent dental prosthesis are supported by four titanium implants. Following dental implant placement, your artificial teeth will bite, look, and function just like your natural teeth. This treatment is more popular since it allows patients to restore their missing teeth quickly by placing a prosthetic right away.

More About All-on-4

All-on-4 Implant Procedure

At Zara Dental, we provide the All-on-4 implant procedure with sedation to ensure your comfort. Then, after capturing digital scans of your teeth and jaw to determine the optimal placement of the posts, the dentist will extract any decayed or damaged teeth and infected tissue from your arch. The dentist then incises the gingival tissue to access the mandible or maxilla. Subsequently, a minor incision is in the jaw, and the implant is affixed to the incision. In All-on-four dental implants, we set the posts at an angle to enhance their stability and reduce the pressure exerted on the bone during biting or chewing. The abutments connect the denture plate to the implants. Once we place all four dental implants, your denture will be secured in place. Once the prosthesis is fixed onto the abutments, it becomes a permanent fixture and functions similarly to your original teeth.

Who Can Get All-on-Four Dental Implants?

Prior to receiving a dental implant, certain patients may require extensive bone grafting, a sinus lift procedure, or advanced periodontal therapy. All-on-4 implants require less surgical preparation compared to traditional implants.

All-on-four dental implants may be a suitable option for you if:

1. Have lost or damaged most of your teeth in one dental arch.

2. Lost some jawbone density

3. Have gum disease, which makes it impossible for you to get traditional implants.

4. Suffered dental damage or damage to the jaw muscles

Patients with compromised immune systems, such as those with diabetes or Lupus, or those with severely weakened immune systems, may not be suitable candidates for All-on-4 dental implants. If the patient's immune system is compromised, the dental implants may not properly heal and osseointegrate, which is crucial for ensuring the stability of the implants.

Tips for proper care of All-on-4 Dental Implants

Both all-on-4 implants and traditional implants are surgically placed into the jawbone. These dental implants are capable of supporting either fixed or removable dentures that are retained by a ball attachment.

The quantity of implants is the primary distinguishing factor between all-on-4 and traditional dental implants. In order to replace all of your teeth with dental implants, a jaw bone graft may be necessary. Additionally, your mouth will need a significant amount of time to heal before the crowns or dentures replacement. You only need four implants with the all-on-4 dental implant system, resulting in a shorter healing period. Additionally, we provide temporary dentures until the permanent ones are ready.

In comparison to dental implants, the all-on-4 treatment option is a more cost-effective solution that involves less patient effort and fewer visits to the dental clinic.

All-on-4 dental implants ensure that replacement teeth remain intact. In comparison to removable dentures, all-on-4 dental implants have the same function, sensation, and aesthetic as your original healthy teeth while performing activities such as eating, speaking, singing, and kissing. Healthy teeth are durable, have a long lifespan, and do not interfere with your daily activities or lifestyle choices.
